Mrs. Huggins teaches Dance I-V and directs Sunset Dance Company and the Bisonettes Varsity Drill Team
Leah Longoria Huggins was raised in McKinney, TX, where she attended McKinney North High School. As a member of the drill team, the North Stars, Leah served as a junior and senior officer. While on North Stars she received high honors as the co-captain of the kick team and co-choreographer for the spring show Viva Las Vegas.
Staying close to home Leah attended Collin County Community College in Plano, TX. Leah was a part of the resident modern/contemporary dance company Collin Dance Ensemble. CDE exposed Leah to the world of modern and contemporary dance which allowed her to artistically explore and express herself. While on CDE Leah performed throughout the DFW area as well as attended master classes by Robert Battle of Alvin Ailey, and locals Michelle Hanlon and Ronnelle Eddings of Elle Danceworks. Leah performed numerous pieces in CDE's end of the year Spring Fling and received the Directors Choice Award.
Leah completed her Bachelors Degree in Dance from Texas Woman's University in Denton, TX. During college Leah was a staff member with award winning Prodigy Dance and Performing Arts Studio in Plano, TX. Leah also judges dance/drill competitions for Danceline Productions and HTE Dance. Leah has and continues to choreograph routines for various DFW schools.
Leah was a five year member of Dallas Dance Company.
Leah currently serves on the board of the North Texas Ballet Folklorico Contest helping high school folklorico programs compete across the state of Texas. She has presented at the TDEA conference twice.
Leah has been the Director of Dance at Sunset High School for 13 years. She is currently the Dance Company Director, Bisonette Varsity Drill Team Director, Dance Pathway and Dance I-IV instructor. She has loved watching the dance program evolve from 76 to 300 students as well as the students who have gone on to college dance programs. She is married to her high school sweetheart Rylie, they have two children and reside in Preston Hollow.

Mr. Jonathan Arredondo
Dance Instructor/Assistant Director
Mr. Arredondo teaches Dance I, Dance II/III/IV, directs Bison Belles JV Drill Team and assists with Sunset Dance Company and Bisonettes Varsity Drill Team
Jonathan Arredondo was born in Mexico and was raised in Dallas, TX. His biggest passions include his family, serving people through his craft, and dance education. Dance invariably allows him to express every thought, idea, emotion, and experience in various creative ways. Jonathan began his dance training at Molina High School in Dallas, TX. His past experiences in competitive sporting competition since the age of 5 prepared him for a career that would be competitive and physically challenging.
Motivation for a career in dance was his aesthetic development in performing on stage, combined with his deep appreciation of theatrical dance styles. Jonathan decided to pursue a career in dance at Dallas College-Mountain View Campus. He is an MVC Dance Company veteran and his favorite company memories include performing in the 2015 Tribute to the 1940’s Swing Dance Production and dancing with his wife, Lucero, in the 2017 Caribbean dance production. Jonathan has trained in partner dance for over 10 years and has experience in Jazz Dance, Ballet, Paso Doble, Folklorico, Contemporary Modern Dance, Swing Dance, and various Latin Dance forms.
Jonathan has had the privilege of working with various talented choreographers around the Metroplex and has performed in a variety of productions. Jonathan Arredondo graduated from Texas Woman’s University, having completed his B.A. in Dance and Minor in Education. Arredondo wants to teach because he wants to impart leadership, humility, opportunity, and knowledge within dance content to young dance students.
This is Jonathan's first year at Sunset High School and he strives to inspire his students to value ideas of knowledge and leadership.
