  Ms. Becerra teaches Dance I, Dance II, Dance Production, and directs Quintanilla Dance Company

Ms. Becerra is from Chicago, Illinois and moved to Texas in 2017. She began dancing at the age of 5. This is Ms. Katherine Becerras’ 2nd year at Raul Quintanilla Sr. Middle School STEAM Academy. She couldn’t be more thrilled to have this opportunity to direct the Quintanilla Dance Company. Teaching Dance is her true passion and she is ready to share, explore and express her knowledge with the students at Raul Quintanilla Middle School. In high school, Ms. Becerra was the vice president of Ready, Set, Teach! (RST!), at Lake Dallas High School. She was a judge for the state regional Texas Association of Future Educators (TAFE) in 2017. Ms. Becerra was on the Wildcats dance team for 3 years in Lexington, South Carolina. Then she proceeded to join the Lake Dallas Highsteppers Drill Team for a year, gaining the role of social officer in Lake Dallas, Texas. Ms. Becerra attended Texas Woman’s University and was part of the International Dance Company performing at numerous locations: Ben Harmon Campus of Lewisville High School, Minshew Elementary, Dance Planet, Arts and Jazz Festival, Upclose, and Margo Jones. In addition to her college life, Katherine is an active member of The National Honors Society of Dance Association since 2019. Ms. Becerra has choreographed award-winning solo and group dances for dance & drill team competitions. She is excited to continue her time at Raul Quintanilla Middle School and with her Stars Family! 

 

 

MEET THE STARS! QUINTANILLA DANCE COMPANY 

 

Raul Quintanilla Sr. Middle School STEAM Academy is an award-winning Dance Company! Students are able to gain the necessary tools to teach, choreograph, and continue their dance education to a higher level. Quintanilla currently offers Dance I, Dance II, Dance Production, and Quintanilla Dance Company. Ms. Becerra began teaching and directing at QMS in the fall of 2021 after graduating with a Bachelor's degree in Dance and Education from Texas Woman’s University. Quintanilla Dance Company performs in and around the Dallas area! The Stars have performed at pep rallies, school assemblies, feeder high schools, for hispanic heritage month, etc. Quintanilla Dance Company is comprised of 7th and 8th students who appreciate dance! The Dance Company holds auditions every year. The Stars specializes in performing hip hop, modern and jazz.
